  • Dibrugarh
01

Kaziranga & Manas wildlife

Assam's grasslands hold two-thirds of the world's one-horned rhinos, plus elephants, wild buffalo, swamp deer and over 480 bird species. We use the central, western and eastern ranges of Kaziranga strategically across multiple safaris.

  • Private jeep safaris, naturalist-led
  • Kaziranga & Manas tiger reserves
  • Birding hides and forest walks
02

Majuli & the Brahmaputra

Majuli is the world's largest river island and the cultural heart of Assamese neo-Vaishnavism. Ferry crossings, satra monasteries, Mishing stilt villages and mask-making artisans frame an unhurried, deeply local experience.

  • Auniati & Kamalabari satras
  • Mishing tribal homestays
  • Brahmaputra cruises by classic boat
03

Tea heritage & Ahom history

Stay in heritage planter bungalows in Jorhat and Dibrugarh, walk the bushes at dawn with a tea-taster, and trace the 600-year Ahom dynasty through Sivasagar's Rang Ghar, Talatal Ghar and royal tanks.

  • Heritage tea-estate stays
  • Tea factory & tasting walks
  • Sivasagar Ahom monuments

Traveller Questions

Planning details that matter.

When is the best time to visit Assam?

November to early April. Kaziranga is closed mid-May to October; tea country and Majuli are at their best in winter and early spring.

How many days do I need for an Assam tour?

Six days covers Kaziranga and Majuli well; nine to twelve days lets you add tea heritage, Sivasagar and a Brahmaputra cruise.

Can Assam be combined with Meghalaya or Arunachal?

Yes. Most travellers pair Assam with Meghalaya (3–5 days) or use Dibrugarh as the gateway to a Tawang or Mishmi Hills extension.
