The Hornbill Festival at Kisama Heritage Village brings all 17 major Naga tribes — Angami, Ao, Konyak, Lotha, Sumi, Chakhesang and more — together for ten days of dance, log-drumming, indigenous food and morung life. Our private package secures early-arrival access, a Khonoma village stay and photography-friendly pacing.
Route Focus
Each Naga tribe builds its own morung at Kisama. We arrive early, walk the morungs with a local cultural guide, share rice beer with elders and photograph performances from positions ticket-only travellers never reach.
A two-night stay in Khonoma, the Angami warrior village that ended British–Naga wars and pioneered community forest conservation. Walks through terraced paddies, alder forests and the Khonoma Nature Conservation Area.
The 1944 Battle of Kohima turned the Burma Campaign. The Commonwealth War Cemetery and Garrison Hill are walked with historical context, paired with Naga oral histories.

Traveller Questions
1 to 10 December every year at Kisama Heritage Village, 12 km from Kohima. The most spectacular performances run on days 2–6.
Indian travellers no longer need an Inner Line Permit; foreign nationals must register under the Protected Area regime. We handle both.
Six to nine months ahead. Kohima boutique stays and Khonoma village homes sell out by July for the December festival.
